Peer Review Process

The IOASD Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, rigorous, and unbiased peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly research. The journal follows internationally accepted editorial and ethical standards to evaluate the scientific quality, originality, significance, and relevance of submitted manuscripts.

All manuscripts submitted to IOASDJMPS undergo a structured review and editorial assessment process as outlined below.

Initial Editorial Assessment
Upon submission, each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial office to determine whether it falls within the scope of the journal and complies with the journal’s submission guidelines and ethical requirements.

During this stage, manuscripts are assessed for:

·       Relevance to the journal’s scope and aims

·       Originality and academic significance

·       Compliance with formatting and submission requirements

·       Ethical compliance and plagiarism screening

·       Overall quality and suitability for peer review

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards or fall outside the journal scope may be rejected at this stage without external review.

Peer Review Procedure
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial assessment are forwarded for peer review. IOASDJMPS follows a peer-review system in which manuscripts are evaluated by independent experts in the relevant subject area to ensure scientific integrity and academic quality.

Typically, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two qualified reviewers with expertise related to the submitted research.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

·       Originality and contribution to the field

·       Scientific quality and methodological rigor

·       Validity and reliability of data and analysis

·       Clarity, organization, and presentation

·       Relevance of references and literature review

·       Significance of findings and conclusions

·       Ethical standards and research integrity

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations along with recommendations for editorial decisions.

Editorial Decision
Following the completion of peer review, the editorial team carefully evaluates the reviewers’ comments and recommendations before making a final decision. The possible editorial decisions include:

·       Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions.

·       Minor Revision: The manuscript requires small corrections or clarifications before acceptance.

·       Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may undergo additional rounds of review.

·       Reject: The manuscript does not meet the scientific, ethical, or editorial standards of the journal.

Authors receive reviewer comments and editorial feedback to assist them in improving their manuscripts where revisions are required.

Revision and Resubmission
Authors submitting revised manuscripts should address all reviewer and editor comments carefully and provide a detailed response explaining the revisions made.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. Additional rounds of review may be conducted until the manuscript meets the required publication standards.

Final Acceptance and Production
Once a manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the production stage, which includes copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and final quality checks. Authors may receive proofs for final review and approval prior to publication.

The final version of the article is then scheduled for publication in the journal.

Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
All manuscripts submitted to IOASDJMPS are treated as confidential documents. Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff are required to maintain confidentiality throughout the review and publication process.

The journal adheres to the ethical principles and recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and other internationally recognized publishing ethics organizations.

The IOASD Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences is dedicated to ensuring transparency, integrity, fairness, and academic excellence throughout the peer-review and publication process. The journal continuously strives to uphold the credibility and reliability of the scientific record while supporting the dissemination of high-quality research to the global academic community.
