GenAI Policy

The IOASD Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences recognizes that Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies may assist authors in improving the language, clarity, and readability of manuscripts during the writing process. Such tools should be used responsibly and only to enhance the presentation of scholarly work.

Authors may use GenAI or AI-assisted technologies solely to improve readability, language, grammar, and style. The use of these technologies must always be carried out under human oversight and control. Authors must carefully review and edit any AI-generated output, as these tools may produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or misleading. Authors are fully responsible and accountable for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of all content submitted to the journal.

The use of Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation must be disclosed in the submitted manuscript. Authors should include a statement immediately before the References section using the following format:

Declaration of Generative AI Use

During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used Name of AI Tool/Service to assist with purpose, e.g., improving language, grammar, or readability. After using this tool/service, the author(s) carefully reviewed, revised, and verified the content and accept full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.

This declaration promotes transparency and does not affect the editorial evaluation of the manuscript. Routine use of basic tools for spelling, grammar, reference management, or language correction does not require disclosure.

Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies must not be used to fabricate or falsify scientific data, research findings, references, citations, images, or conclusions. Authors must ensure that all data, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions are the result of genuine scientific research and can be independently verified.

Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. AI technologies cannot assume responsibility for the submitted work, approve the final manuscript, or fulfill the ethical and legal responsibilities required of authors. Only individuals who meet the journal's authorship criteria may be listed as authors.

The Editorial Office reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of GenAI during manuscript preparation. Failure to disclose significant AI use or misuse of AI that compromises research integrity may result in editorial action, including manuscript rejection, correction, retraction, or other actions in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
